Our Waimea Anglican Parish's Vision

Our vision is to be  A God loving community empowered to love and serve others

We endeavour to do this by providing a range of opportunities to learn and exercise discipleship as individuals and as a church community. This is facilitated by providing a range of worship styles through to different small groups to provide both strong personal growth and a nurturing Christian community. Alongside this we seek to intentionally interact with the wider community.

MISSION STATEMENT
Coming together in the worship of God to receive God’s love as a community, to pray, to learn and to share the love of God.

5 core VALUES
•    Prayer:  Communicating with God
•    Bible Knowledge:  Teaching and learning about the scriptures in a way, which is          well thought out and relevant to our lives
•    Worship:  Attributing worth to God and being Christ centred and empowered by the       Holy Spirit.
•    Community:  Caring for the needs of others (pastoral care) while journeying                 together in faith.
•    Sharing:  Actively sharing the good news about Christ in word and deed

Worship

You will find the services incorporate a variety of worship styles. Normal services incorporate a  blend of Contemporary and  Traditional styles. The music for the services are a mix of songs of praise and hymns. We welcome and cater for children in every service.  Communion is regularly administered at the first service and twice monthly at the second.

Sunday 8:30 am:

This service is traditional liturgy, with music from traditional hymns. A quieter contemplative type of service. Morning Tea is served once a month.

St Paul's Brightwater

Sunday 10:00am

This service is a Contemporary style with the best of modern music and a children’s programme that runs concurrently. So if you are 99 or only 1 year old we have something that we believe will appeal and encourage you. The service always finishes with a good cup of plunger coffee or tea.

Other Information

We enjoy children in our services. Children’s space, toys and activities are provided for them to help you relax and focus your worship. At our St Paul’s service time we run our Children’s programmes.

We believe in every member ministry, Martin our Vicar is called to facilitate  our spiritual growth in this area.

Home Communion is available for those who are sick or house bound.
We also have a pastoral support network for those who would like visits or prayer.

In our Church we welcome all to communion who are baptised or who are regular worshipping members. We would be privileged if you would join us.

We believe as a church everyone can learn from others and each person has something to contribute to the corporate community life.
